By extending the attic with generous dormers and subsequently converting it, valuable new living space has been created in this single-family home. To connect the additional level comfortably and harmoniously with the existing structure, a well-designed staircase solution was essential.

In the former office, a ceiling opening was created for this purpose. A custom space-saving staircase was integrated into the designated niche, precisely designed to minimize floor space while still providing maximum walking comfort.

The staircase stands out with its elegantly curved handrail within the stairwell opening. This design supports a natural walking motion and ensures comfortable use despite its compact structure.

The solid wood steps were color-matched to the existing parquet flooring, creating a cohesive overall look. Thanks to its open construction, the staircase appears light and transparent—it blends naturally into the space without dominating it.

In this way, the space-saving staircase connects the two levels not only functionally but also aesthetically in a clever manner. The result: maximum use of space without waste and comfortable access to the new living area under the roof.
